What does the process look like for new boots and blades? Take a look at the steps below for what your visit to Go Figure looks like for this service-
At the beginning of your visit we talk with you about your skating level, how often you are skating, and what you are wanting out of your new boots and blades. This information is crucial for your fitting so that we know what kind of boot support you will need in your new skates.
We have fitting tools our staff is trained to use from our different boot vendors to properly fit you. While these are essential in the fitting processes, they are primarily a guideline to give us a starting point for the length of your foot. We also measure the width and heel of your foot to ensure you new boots will have the proper fit in those aspects as well.
Our boutique stands out in the world of skating shops due to the fact that we strive to keep as much inventory of boots and blades stocked in store for your convenience. After getting a general idea of what size your will need, we will take a look at boots in your size range and compare them to find your guaranteed fit. When fitting figure skating boots, it is CRUCIAL that your boots are not too big for your foot. While for our younger skaters,
“growing room” is desired, too much room will decrease the level of control for your skater and can cause serious foot problems down the line.If you are at the level where boots and blades are sold separately, we will look at blade models to complete your perfect set. When purchasing blades we take in consideration what skills you are working on and what your skating focus is- like jumps versus synchronized skating and ice dance.
We have decided on your boot and blade combo! Next we perform services such as waterproofing, blade mounting, and sharpening. All of these services are FREE the first time we perform them when you purchase your new boots and blades through Go Figure. These services are completely guaranteed and are performed in a timely and precise manner.
Please note: We completely understand that new skates can be an investment. If you choose to get fitting with us and would like to wait to purchase your skates, we do charge a $30 fitting fee for our time and factory based training. When you are ready to purchase, the $30 comes off the pricing of your boots for you.
